Overview

Touko Yin is widely known as Unova's Hero Of Ideals. After taking down Team Plasma's Ghetsis at the Pokemon League, she re-challenged the Elite Four and became Champion, but her records in Unova's Hall Of Fame shows that she only held the title for roughly two weeks before leaving Unova in early 2011. Not much about her personal life is known, other than what Touko's intentionally put out herself. On the day that Iris was crowned Champion, she was nowhere to be found in the Unova region until her return in late 2012. Since then, she's been heavily involved with the performing arts and entertainment industry.

She is currently a trainer, professional choreographer, recording artist, director, and record label executive.

In April of 2020, she's released a collaboration featuring Nancy to commemorate the opening of BW Records.

Biography

Her earliest memory was throwing blows to a punching bag. Beginning from the age of four, her father, Raiden Yin, raised her to become a fighter. Hence why he named her Touko. Raiden is a retired boxer, well known for his "thunder" punches during his own Pokemon journey. And Touko enjoyed practicing martial arts and boxing with him almost everyday. Things during this part of her life were good, she had a relatively good relationship with her parents. At the age of 10, Touko took her first ballet class with Bianca, and it was like a whole new world. But Raiden was not very accepting of Touko's newfound love for a different hobby, and refused to pay for any of her dance classes. Knowing this, Touko would sneak into the parent viewing room of the ballet class with a two way mirror that showed the teacher demonstrating lessons on the other side, and mimicked what was taught through the mirror. This worked for about four years, she would secretly take dance lessons behind her fathers back during the day, and come back home to practice boxing with her father. Then one day, during her freshman year of high school, Touko landed a lead role in a musical. Thinking that now because she's old enough, her father would be more open minded to the idea of her performing. She decided to tell him through the performance, hoping that she could show him how important music and dancing was to her. But after her musical that night, he drove her home in silence. When they got home, he beat her and disowned her for sneaking off behind his back to participate in activities that were a waste of time. He said he wanted to raise a fighter, not a weakling, and the fact Touko did this was a betrayal to the hard work he put into training her. Her mother, Miyako, kicked him out of the house as soon as she witnessed him lay his hand on her. Later on, Touko dropped out of high school to become a trainer.

Personality

Flaws: Not great at keeping in contact with loved ones when far away, reckless, too much of a perfectionist when it comes to herself or when she's doing choreography for an artist, kind of a hard ass when she's choreographing celebrities/dancers, her mouth is incredibly tactless, and she is overly self sacrificing.

Strengths: Gives precise instructions-- she's good at explaining things, she's very thoughtful of others, athletic, ambitious, artistic, and open minded.

The Journey

After Raiden disappeared, he seemed to have regretted his decision, and would send gifts to Touko as an attempt of rekindling their relationship. She has a nice TV in her room that she got from him, but can't bring herself to see her father the same way ever again. On the day that she, Cheren, and Bianca began their journey: she received a music box, upon opening it up, a cute little ballet dancer would spin around as the music plays. It was supposed to symbolize his acceptance of her love for the performing arts, but for some reason, the gift didn't sit well with her. So, she left the box locked in her dresser, and decided to leave her father behind for good.

This journey would be the first time ever, that she wasn't focusing on boxing or dancing. She received her starter, a Tepig, and spent several weeks on a hiatus from her former favorite activities. Eventually, when she traveled to Castelia, Tepig changed her mind, showing Touko its interest in street performing. Then, when they headed to Nimbasa, Touko and Tepig performed in their first Pokemon Musical ever. This sparked Touko's desire to dance again, and seeing her partner battle in the subway reminded her of how much she loved boxing, and began sparring with her partner for fun.

Castelia City reignited her love for dancing, as Nimbasa City did for boxing. Though her struggles with her father did did hinder her from fully being able to embrace fighting outside of Pokemon battles. But even if she felt the sense of her father haunting her throughout her journey, her main concerns were always with a boy, known by the name of N.

They met on the first day of her journey, he approached her and claimed to be able to hear the voice of her partner, Tepig. It might have not been a normal thing to say, but she believed him. And though Cheren had written him off as a strange man, somehow-- Touko felt an understanding with him.

Her and N would find their paths constantly tangled with each other, and it was the universes will that it was so. That much was apparent to her in Nimbasa City, when he revealed himself to be the King of Team Plasma. She was taken aback, because even if she didn't fully agree with everything he said, she certainly didn't expect that they would have to start fighting on opposing sides. And she really didn't want to.

She'd encounter him again in Chargestone Cave, where he asked her if she had a dream of her own. Her father crept back into her mind again as she thought of her answer, she loved boxing for such a long time, and still did even if she found a love in singing and dancing in front of people. But every time she tried to indulge in her dreams of performing, it made her feel like she was betraying the little girl she once was. It was then, that she answered yes to N-- because she realized that her dream was to be able to do both, and do it with Pokemon.

It would come into the light, much later, that they had more in common than either of them could imagine. N was chosen as the Hero Of Truths by Reshiram, and Touko was chosen as the Hero Of Ideals by Zekrom. Which reassured what Touko felt all along, that even if N was Team Plasma's King-- he was good.

At the edge of the Pokemon League, N left his last parting words to her after she beat Ghetsis, and it was for her to chase after her dreams and make them come true. After N took off on his Reshiram, Touko would then spend a month tying up loose ends in Unova, before setting off to search for him in Sinnoh.

2018 — Present: BW Performing Arts & Dance Studios, Professional Boxing, and BW Records.

After graduating from the Castelia Performing Arts Conservatory, Touko created BW Dance Studios, earning the Woman of The Year award in 2018 after it's success. She has a couple of wins under her belt from competing in boxing competitions in the Johto region, and is set to retire her professional boxing career in 2020, in favor of becoming a Record Label Executive for BW Records. She has an array of artists set to debut, as well as an album she that she plans to release herself.

Preferences.

Feel free to bump the thread if I have not replied, I can be slow at these things.

Please discuss/plot unsolicited harm on Touko first before sending interactions that are of that nature.

I don't always check my notifications so if I haven't followed back, it's not a personal thing, just send interactions my way so I'll see your account.

Character Notes.

Touko is in her early to mid twenties right now, but her age will vary depending on your own character and what I feel like makes sense with the character interaction at the time. So if I make a tweet on the TL referencing her age, that doesn't necessarily mean it applies to our interactions/ character relationship. Ex: if you have a Bianca account and she's 19 years old, obviously Touko would be the same age as her.

Main Verse.

Present day, Touko puts her focus in her work in the music and entertainment industry as the president of BW Entertainment, located in Virbank City. She can still be found teaching dance to the public at BW Dance Studios, but also uses it to train new artists under her record label. She occasionally ventures out to Johto to participate in Pokeathlons.

College Verse.

She returns to Unova after being accepted into the Castelia Performing Arts Conservatory, she majors in Dance.

Dawn Berlitz - @SinnohRadiance: One of her closest girlfriends and confidants, she met her on her journey to search for N in Sinnoh.

Touko is the 'yin' of the yin and yang. Which means that Zekrom is the dragon she is meant to wield, as he is supposed to be the yin to Reshiram's yang, making her the Hero Of Ideals.

Her yin characteristics are: ( listed in bold )

slow, soft, yielding, diffuse, cold, passive, water, earth, the moon, female, femininity and night time.

Because of this, she is a Pisces, ( Born on March 6th ) associated with water. Her luck is often stronger at night, and when the moon is at its brightest. Touko's moon sign is a Capricorn, which is an earth sign. And her favorite season is winter.

Her yang characteristics are: ( listed in bold )

fast, hard, solid, focused, hot, and active, fire, sky, the sun, male, masculinity and daytime.

Because of this, she is a boxer and dancer who moves with incredible agility. Touko is focused and set on her goals for making the world a better place for humans and Pokemon to co-exist together. Her 'masculinity' is her athletic/sporty side.

Touko sets the record of having the second shortest duration of her reign as Champion. She was Unova's champion from June 21st of 2010, to March 10th of 2011. Just several months longer than Green Oak.
